With the huge success of the 2016/17 Big Bash program for boys and girls, Inverell juniors will have a new format this year that will allow them to spend more time batting, bowling and wicket-keeping.

The search is on for extra players in the 10-and-under age group to have four teams of eight in the T20 Blast modified format competition.
All participants will bat for four overs, bowl at least two overs, wicket keep and participate in a weekly skills zone to build confidence and skills under the guidance of Cricket NSW staff Colin Starkey and his assistant elite junior player and Macintyre High School student Chloe Johnson and program co-ordinator Mark Brabant assisting.
“We see a great potential to grow cricket in Inverell at the grassroots level,” CNSW regional manager Kathy Barber said.
Starting next Friday, 20 January, the Inverell MILO T20 Blast Cricket Centre will kick start the 2017 season for Inverell 10s.
There are no additional Fees for this program for returning participants for 2017. New participants are also welcome by visiting www.playcricket.com.au/Inverell and click on the T20 Blast Link.
Those who attended the January 13 come and try session were excited about the new format and got involved with their kids enjoying the fun format where there was lots of activity and music along the way.

Colin said the game tailors itself to beginners and juniors who have had playing experience, with a goal in teh eight weeks toward teamwork and fun.
“They actually get enjoyment out of it they get to learn new skills and learn to have fun, and grow a team environments,” he said.

The MILO T20 Blast Centre is being hosted at Brooks Oval on Friday afternoons commencing at 5.00pm and will be finished each week before 7.00pm.
