Bibliophiles lined up outside as the door was opened this morning, hoping to snatch up the best finds early. Inverell Lions president Peter Kearsey was pleased to see a steady flow of people throughout the day, and several club members volunteered to keep the shelves stacked.
One anonymous local snuck out on their smoko – and left with two tall towers of tales.
The funds raised will go towards the locally hosted Lions Club convention later this year.
Running out of the old bearing centre on Byron Street, near McDonalds, the sale continues until 5pm today and between 8.30am-5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
