At about 2.15am on Sunday, January 22, a 35-year old Inverell man was stopped in Byron Street, Inverell for the purpose of a Random Drug Test.

After providing a positive result to the test, the man was arrested. He was then taken to Inverell Police Station for the purpose of a secondary drug test.
The sample collected will be sent for analysis. Police will await the results of this sample prior to taking any further action.
On Saturday. January 14, an 18-year-old Inverell man was stopped in Gordon Street, Inverell for a Mobile Drug Test. and gave a positive reading.
The man was arrested and taken to Inverell Police Station for the purpose of a secondary drug test.
That test will be further analysed, and police will await the results prior to any further action being taken.
The man was issued with a Court Attendance Notice for drive whilst suspended and learner not accompanied and appeared before Inverell Local Court on January 19.
