“[It] came out last week and it’s already country pick of the week on CMC which is pretty cool,” she said.
The single, which was written in Nashville last year, has also already reached number five on the iTunes chart.
“I was in the company of artists like Keith Urban which is pretty cool,” Ms Dyer said.
But despite her success the former Inverell girl, now based in Sydney, is still down to earth.
“The country is where my roots are and that’s where I started writing songs about my life on the land,” she said.
“Going home to Inverell and just sitting out on the front verandah on the farm and just stopping is my favourite thing – but I really love both the city and the country.”
The star said she would be back home later this year to launch the album. “We’ll probably be likely to release another single before the full album comes out,” she said.
