Both girls have been opening the bowling from opposite ends, with Claire bowling outswing and Chloe bowling inswing.
They have taken the vital opening wickets in each of their games and put the opposition under pressure to score runs, with great bowling partnerships.
Claire is leading by example as the captain of the North West side for the tournament.
The first game was played against Riverina with North-West batting first. Chloe had the second-highest score for the North-West innings (19 not out).
Claire come out firing with the ball, taking the opening wicket for a duck.
Game two was against the Western region, who lost the toss and were sent into bat.
The opening bowling partnership worked well, breaking the first wicket in the second over. The Inverell girls stepped up, both taking vital catches and Claire getting an important run out.
Game three was played against a very strong Hunter side.
Claire chipped in with the bat getting six runs not out. Both girls contributed with the ball, with Claire taking 2/13 off four overs and Chloe 1/14 off four. Claire also made an important catch. Ultimately, Hunter was victorious.
Game four was against Sydney East, with North-West batting first.
Claire chipped in with the bat, scoring a much needed six runs, but Chloe stole the show, top scoring with an unbeaten 17 not out off 13 balls.
Once again, the bowling combination of Claire and Chloe broke through the opening partnership, with Claire taking 1/4 off four overs. Unfortunately, North-West were not strong enough to come away victorious.
In their final game, Claire got 29 runs and Chloe was 16 not out. In bowling, Claire was 0/10 off her 8 overs while Chloe was 1/5 off 8 overs. North-West side finished 7th in NSW.
Claire was selected as part of the CHS 2nd eleven open girls cricket team and will now go to Maitland on March 20 for the three-day carnival. Both girls are on their way to CHS softball to represent the North West region again.
