Chief steward Tim Lloyd says producers from across NSW will bring their livestock to the event.
“Red Poll is an old breed of cattle that has stood the test of time,” Mr Lloyd said.
“There are people who are passionate about the breed and who will come to the show especially for this event.”
The 149th annual show aims to showcase the region’s agriculture and educate the public on rural matters.
Beef producers feature prominently across the district and Mr Lloyd said the show would feature different breeds each year to raise their profile.
Bos Indicus and other European breeds will also be at the show, which starts on March 3 at the Inverell Show Ground in Tingha Road.

Other livestock to be judged at the show are sheep and merino fleeces.
Steward and wool broker Ian Goddard said judges would be looking for weight, brightness and an even crimp in determining winners.
“There should be no break when you pull the fleece; we’re also looking at trueness of type, length of staple and the fleece’s character, its softness and density,” Mr Goddard said.
He’s been a wool judge for about 20 years and enjoys his time at the Inverell Show.
Both stewards agreed the show was an opportunity to involve the community in a local event.
It’s also an opportunity for local businesses to become involved.
F Gaukroger and Sons proprietors Mark Palmer and Braith Gartshore are also celebrating almost 100 years of motor vehicle servicing and 80 years as a NRMA Country Service Centre.
”We are committed to providing superior service and quality to all our customers,” the proprietors said.
“You will experience that commitment to quality and excellence from the first time you contact us on the phone or walk in to our dealership.”
F Gaukroger and Sons is on the corner of Vivian and Oliver Streets, Inverell. For more information phone 6722 2722.
Agricultural and Grounds Care Equipment dealer Chesterfield is also a sponsor of this year’s show. The company, in Swanbrook Road, Inverell, specialises in tractors, harvesters and mowers.
The first Inverell Show was held in 1868 next to McIntyre River, moving to the showground in 1914.
Entry to the show is $15 for adults, $10 for pensioners and free to children under five years.
Pavilion entries open on Wednesday, with judging starting the following day.
The show concludes on Sunday with a fireworks display in the main ring at 9.15pm on Friday.
