Heavy rain interfered with all cricket in Inverell last Saturday, March 18. Such was the morning downfall, both A and B grade preliminary finals were abandoned without a ball being bowled. Association officials were counting millimetres of rain, not runs with a decision announced at 11.30am.

Square & Compass were scheduled to play Campbell & Freebairn with the winner advancing to the A Grade final.

Finishing second, Square & Compass will defend their title against Staggy Creek at Varley Oval this Saturday, March 25. Campbell & Freebairn now pack away their kits and look forward to season 2017-18.

The B grade final will be played at Cameron Oval between Empire Warriors and last seasons’ Premiers Invincibles. Following the A grade game at cricket headquarters, the Association will present trophies for the season.

Among many highlights, performances will be highlighted for hat tricks, centuries and a double century. The McDonalds Inverell Cricket Association welcomes all cricket supporters, sponsors and the Inverell public to Varley and Cameron Ovals during the day.
