The third annual Inverell Medieval Festival invites you, costumed for the period or just in your 21st century street clothes, for a weekend of fun in Gilgai.
If you’re looking to find an affordable way to join in the fun, including the Medieval Dress Parade, have a look here:
Event founder Katrina Shailer got the festival started to provide a dose of history and affordable family weekend of attractions, entertainment, food and learning. She hopes the community will come along to provide the momentum so the festival will have a future.
Returning are the Companie of Draco Rouiters to perform tournaments and stage static displays. Katinra said the minimal gate fees the event collects helps to bring the group back each year to share their wealth of historical displays and demonstrations.
A fun aspect of the event might be the Friday street saunter, with local maidens accompanied by a knight in full armour, so keep an eye out on the main streets at about 2pm Friday, March 31, and find Find more details on the event’s Facebook page.
