Breanna has performed in Inverell talent shows, pubs and fundraisers from an early age. She won the Inverell’s Got Talent Best Vocalist award in 2012.
“The scholarship’s exciting because it’s starting to open up doors for me – it’s scary, but I’m looking forward to doing it,” Breanna said.
“I hope to better myself, my voice, and become a better performer.”
Breanna said she’ll using the scholarship to pay for music lessons, guitar lessons and vocal training – essential tools that will turn a passion into a profession.
“I’ve always loved singing – it’s been a passion that makes me feel better,” she said.
“I can really let my emotions out, whether it’s happy, sad or angry – so music’s been really important to me.
Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall met with the country-pop singer and guitarist over the weekend to congratulate her on the achievement.
“Breanna Krauss is a tremendously talented, driven and passionate performer – and I know that she’ll make the most of this incredible opportunity,” Mr Marshall said. He said the scholarship would make the most of her natural talent.
Applications for this year’s Young Regional Artist scholarship program are now open. Anyone aged 18-25 and who practices art – from dance, design to literature – is eligible.
