Along with entertainment, there will be information about what’s happening with the wind farm, currently under construction 28 kilometres east of Inverell.
A scale model of the Wind Farm will be on display which will provide the public with the chance to visualize how the site will appear. And there will be family entertainment with a performance by internationally renowned performer, Captain Frodo.
Information about the project will be available through the Sapphire Wind Farm stall. The length of a blade – 65m – will also be marked out to provide children in particular with the opportunity to put the size of the turbines into perspective.
Construction on the wind farm started in January.
The 75 turbines, once built, will be 200m tall from the ground to the tip of the blade. The project will become fully operational in the second half of 2018.
On completion, it will be the largest wind farm in NSW.
The afternoon starts at 12.30pm on Saturday, June 3.
