The Inverell RSPCA branch is holding a low-cost microchipping day at its pavilion in the showground on June 17.
President Ngaire Martin said the day would run from 12.15pm to 2pm, and was open to anyone of any means.
“I know a couple of times, I myself have picked up dogs and taken them to vet, and because they were microchipped they made it home easily,” she said.
“The worst-case scenario is that the animal ends up in the pound and adopted if nobody claims it, or it gets euthanised.”
