“Construction in the Community” will provide community groups and organisations with the opportunity to realize small-scale infrastructure projects that will bring a range of benefits to the wider community. The projects are those that can be completed in the space of half a day or day but require manpower, special skills and machinery to complete.
“With the involvement of our whole team, Sapphire Wind Farm hopes to make ‘light-work’ of community projects that may be onerous for others to complete,” said Lisa Stiebel, CWP Community Engagement Officer.
The initiative demonstrates the importance of providing opportunities that leave behind long-lasting benefits. The CWP is joining forces with the major contractors, Vestas, Zenviron and TransGrid to deliver a range of innovative legacy projects - including “Construction in the Community”.
Several local groups have already sent their contributions for assistance in projects. These will be shortlisted after applications are received by Sunday, June 25. Ideas can be submitted through an online publication available on the SWF website.
