Monday, July 3: Inverell Shire Public Library – Intro to Australian Sign Language (AUSLAN). From 10-11am, the first of two free sessions to introduce key words and finger spelling. Appropriate for children from kindergarten up and their parents. There is no need to attend both sessions.
Tingha, Amethyst Street – Families are welcome to join Tingha’s NAIDOC Week street march from 10.45, walking from the BEST Access Centre to the Anaiwan LALC office. Afterwards there will be activities for children, lawn bowls with the NSW police and a hot lunch served at the Sport and Recreation Club.
Tuesday, July 4: Campbell Street – Come along to Inverell’s NAIDOC Week march and flag raising. It will start from 10am at Turnham carpark, walking to Victoria Park.
Wednesday, July 5: Bounce Fitness – Rural Outreach and Support Service are hosting free laser tag for ages 6-16 from 10am-12pm. Bookings essential, 6721 0855.
Thursday, July 6: Danthonia Bruderhof Community – At 12pm the community will host a lunch to celebrate NAIDOC Week. Everyone is welcome. A bus with limited seating will leave from the Linking Together Centre at 11.30am.
Inverell Art Gallery – Official opening of NAIDOC Exhibition ‘Our Languages Matter’, a collection of pieces from Indigenous artists around the region. The exhibition will stay open until Thursday, August 3.

The Armidale School – Camp Wallaby Armidale. Running from July 10-12 from 9am-3pm, this is a three day rugby skills camp for boys and girls aged 5-14 years old. There will be beginner and advanced streams and chances for all to train with and meet the Wallabies. Prices range from $250-$390. Wednesday, July 12: Inverell Shire Public Library – Wooden family tree craft. This activity will require small photos of the child’s family members. It will run from 10.30-11.30am for children in years three to six. Bookings are essential. The cost is $3 per child or $7 per family.
Inverell Skate Park, Old Bundarra Road – Skateboarding workshop. Running from 12-4pm with a best trick competition from 4-4.30pm, teachers Scott Standley and Rachel Urquhart will teach children of all ability levels. For a cost of $30, the day includes lunch, prizes and a skate pack. Skateboards and helmets will be supplied if necessary.
