IPART Chair Dr Peter Boxall said these decisions take stakeholder feedback on board and deliver greater savings for most water users than those proposed in the draft decisions in March 2017, following changes to the way costs are allocated.
The decisions mean significant reductions in the overall revenue that WaterNSW can collect from its customers across the State, with bill impacts depending on location and the type of licence held.
The biggest fall in bills will be for customers in the Border valley, where general security customers and high security customers will see bills fall by 20.7% and 18.3% respectively, between now and 2020-21.
Bills for general security customers in the Gwydir valley, and all customers in the Namoi valley will increase, but below the rate of inflation.
