Keen enthusiast and cricket historian, Les Eastaway, is currently researching Inverell cricket spanning over one hundred years. Results of premierships, outstanding batting and bowling and a detailed list of the office bearers from the Foundation of the Inverell Cricket Association are some of the many items on his wish list.
To date, he has unearthed double centuries rarely mentioned and bowlers that have dismissed the entire team. Yes, ten wickets in an innings. Many locals will love to view the highlights of their father, grandfather or much-loved neighbour and workmate that were local heroes. Not to be forgotten are great exploits from recent eras.
Les has also unearthed missing trophies and is on the lookout for some more Silverware. He would be grateful to view photos for the upcoming book and a humorous cricket story is a great read too.
Anyone that is able to supply photos, scoresheets, memorabilia etc may contact Les at: eastyzak27@bigpond.com or call 6722-4560.
