The Community Book Buying afternoon is an annual event where library members are invited to get involved in the purchase of new library books.
This year participants were able to meet with one of the library’s regular book suppliers, who brought a large variety of the latest releases in fiction and non-fiction for all age ranges.
They made suggestions to library staff on any books they thought would be suitable for the collection, and were able to reserve their favourites so they could be the first to borrow them.
Around 15 people attended. With a wide age range, they and all had different reading tastes which meant there was a variety of books selected.
After browsing through the new books the members enjoyed a cuppa and some afternoon tea.
