The festivities were combined with the Adventure Riders Magazine Northern Congregation in Green Valley Farm, and around 90 Suzuki riders joined in to celebrate the 21st anniversary of Suzuki’s DR650se model being sold in Australia.
“I think we’re very lucky,” Vince Strang said. He could still remember day one on the job.
“We were busy trying to make sense of our one room showroom workshop. I don’t think it was any more than five metres by four metres in size,” he said. He remembered his first two deliveries to Graham Macintyre and Andrew Boland on the day.
“We had quite a few enthusiastic people come in,” he said.
Mr Strang loved his shop and said the supportive Inverell community helped keep his business stable. He said it was a “great industry” that gave him many opportunities to travel overseas. Mr Strang said he had trouble picturing retirement, and for now, was quite happy to continue working day to day with the local community.
