Netball
The Intermediates was a close game on Saturday with Mac Diamonds 18 making a terrific comeback in the last quarter narrowly defeating Mac Attack 16 who had lead most of the game. MVP was Ebony Taylor - Ebony played for Mac Diamonds and also played with this years State Age 12's and improved every game.

The Junior 5/6 game saw Flaming Firebirds have a convincing victory over MacIntyre Hot Vixens to end up 22 - 12 winners. Both teams gave it their all and have had competitive games every time they met this season. MVP was Bo Halloran from Flaming Firebirds whose determination stood out. Congratulations Bo. In Division 1, the Coffee Express held off a much improved Freckles to run out victors 29 - 16. MVP was Emma Hall from Freckles - a well deserved win by a tireless defensive player who was also a member of the State Age 14's this year that went to State Age Championships.
State Champs
Some of the State’s best Primary and Secondary Schools’ netball talent are on their way to Genea Netball Centre this week to contest the 2017 Schools Cup State Finals.
Following 70 Local and Regional competition days, it all comes down to 40 teams representing 36 schools who are in the race of the 2017 Champions title. Among these teams are Ross Hill Public School Northern Inland (Year 5/6 Mixed), Inverell High School Northern Inland (Year 7/8 Boys).
Junior Golf
A Macintyre High School trio were the first to have their names engraved on the inaugural Sapphire City Inter-School Golf Championship trophy last Friday.
Matthew Felton, Aidan Sparke and Darcy Walsh had the lowest scores on the day, which was hosted by Jack Newton Junior Golf in an effort to kick start the sport in a younger local demographic.
Holy Trinity, Macintyre High School and Bundarra Central School took part in the friendly competition.
Inverell parkrun
65 people ran, jogged and walked in Inverell’s 3rd parkrun. 25 were first timers and 29 recorded new personal bests. Winners of the event were: 1. Derek Voll (22:38), 2. Sam Hilton (22:45), 3. Michael Jorgensen (23:48) The event was made possible thanks to nine volunteers.
