The car wash, held in the Beaurepairs driveway, was just one of the fundraising events run by Year 12 students with a mobile car wash also travelling the streets and two cake stalls selling baked goodies cooked by the teenagers themselves.
“Each Year 12 fundraisers for a charity [and] these guys are raising money for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance,” Year 12 Advisor and teacher Andrew Kerr said as he stood just beyond hosing distance of his car cleaning charges.
Two Year 12 students have cerebral palsy and Teacher’s Aide Amanda Dean said raising funds for the Alliance reflected an “appreciation for the wonderful support they’ve given the kids.”
The day’s fund-raising activities will be followed by a charity event tonight featuring entertainment and an auction.
“The whole town has supported us by giving things for us to auction off,” Ms Dean said.
