The most recent report is in relation to eight black steers being stolen from a property on the Kamilaroi Highway near Narrabri, New South Wales. The steers were reported to have stolen between September21 and October 9 2017.
Police are keen to speak with any person who may be able to provide information about the theft or suspicious behaviour or vehicles on the Kamilaroi Highway during the past fortnight.
The Barwon Local Area Command acknowledges stock theft as a serious crime that affects our rural communities, and investigates all reports of stock theft accordingly.
Stock owners can assist police by recording and conducting regular counts of stock, and reporting matters as soon as possible, as delays can affect the success of the investigations.
Stock owners can also assist police by contacting the Rural Crime Unit with information relating to stock thefts, unusual movements of stock particularly at night or any other information relating to suspicious behaviour in rural areas.
