The Macintyre High School exhibition of major projects opened at the Inverell Art Gallery last Thursday, November 16 from 5.30pm.
Teacher Annabel Brooker said the students had spent the last 12 months working hard to create quality pieces. She said the exhibition helped highlight the young artists and designers’ skills and expertise.
From an intricate cushion evoking a love of the sea by textiles student Hayley Duffy, to a colourful but contemplative triptych of partial portraits called Flexin my complexion by Sarah Woodhead, each piece has a different story to tell.
Alisha Bagnall’s collection named I don’t think it effects flamingos explores the aesthetic of scientific anatomical drawings mixed with classical painting styles.
The exhibition will remain open until Tuesday, November 21. The Art Gallery opening hours are 10am-5pm Monday-Friday and 10am-1pm on Saturdays.
