The case of an Inverell man facing multiple charges of historical child abuse, will be held-over until next month after a request by his defence solicitor in Inverell Local Court on Thursday.

The 53-year-old remains in custody following allegations he has sexually abused a number of children.
In applying for Thursday’s hearing to be deferred, solicitor Neurelle Lyon told Magistrate Macpherson that "fresh matters” had only been served on her desk the preceding day.
The magistrate agreed to adjourn the hearing and the issue of bail related to more recent charges, until Thursday December 21.
The Department of Public Prosecutions was directed to serve a brief to Ms Lyons by December 14.
