The track markers have been hard at work marking out trails for two wheeled dirt bike riders of all ages and abilities with trails around the wheat paddocks, over the hills, along the creeks, through the scrub and quarries and down the farm tracks on the properties neighbouring the village.
With base camp at the North Star Sporting Club, riders and visitors will have access to food, drinks, showers and more to get them through two epic days of riding.
The tracks start with the 300 metre Pee Wee loop while the Learner track is 6km and Novice and Open Level riders are catered for with 20km, 50km and 80km tracks.
Riders can choose which track suits their ability. Hard sections will have bypasses and organisers promise that those riders who like a challenge won’t be disappointed with the Mt Mitchell Hillclimb and the Enchanted Forest. There will also be fuel and food stops on the longer loops.
Riders need to be ready for early starts as the longer tracks need to close early to ensure everybody gets back to camp before the end of the short winter days. All tracks will be open at 8am on Saturday and Sunday.
This year the North Star Trail Ride is online entry only. Riders can book by clicking the ‘Book Now’ button on the North Star Trail Ride Facebook Page or by going to trybooking.com, clicking ‘Buy Tickets’ and then searching event: ‘North Star Trail Ride’ date: ‘July 28’.
A group discount is available for groups that include two adult riders and two riders under 16yrs. Riders are encouraged to enter early to help the committee create a fun and safe weekend for all riders and visitors.
There will be several giveaways with riding gear and other bike goodies to be given to riders during the briefings. A Honda 50 will be raffled by the North Star School P&C, giving either a rider or visitor the chance to go home with a new bike.
