The federal government yesterday announced the towers would be constructed at Bonshaw, Elsmore, Kings Plains, Hetheringtons Sugarloaf (Rocky Creek) and Spring Mountain Road.
The effects of the upgrade should begin to be felt before the end of the year, with the rollout continuing for a three year period, the government announced.
Member for New England Barnaby Joyce applauded the announcement.
The towers were among 28 new or upgraded base stations, covering 104 mobile phone blackspots, in the New England electorate.
Mr Joyce said it was a fantastic result, considering there were 200 nominations from New England, after submissions were called for the government’s Mobile Blackspots program last year.
“This is about getting out into the edges of the electorate, and we’re not going to rest on our laurels,” Mr Joyce said.

Eight of the phone towers fall in Adam Marshall's Northern Tablelands electorate.
“This is a great example of state and federal governments and the private sector working together to improve access to the network for country people and maximise the number of towers that could be built,” Mr Marshall said.
He said, however, there were still many more blackspots that hadn’t been addressed this time round and noted improved coverage to Copeton Dam was not included.
“I’m already lobbying my state colleagues and Regional Development Minister John Barilaro to be willing to put more state funding into another round of this program, which hopefully the federal government will pursue,” he said.
