The scene of the single vehicle accident was attended by police, paramedics and SES volunteers, and the Westpac rescue helicopter was also called to the scene. The helicopter evacuated the driver from a landing zone in an open paddock just north of the accident site about noon.
The driver was in a satisfactory condition when flown to Lismore Base hospital with suspected neck and spinal injuries.
The 10 tonne tabletop truck with expensive digging gear attached was carrying cattle at the time of the accident, and is believed to have been written off.
