Clintal Do may very well be a horse of the future – especially after his 65m win in the Inverell RSM Club Three-Year-Old Pace at Inverell last Sunday.

The gelding recorded the fastest Inverell track time time of 1.57/mile rate with a final time of 2:25.6 in the 2000 metre race.
Having to swerve around a galloper at the start, Dayl March guided Clintal Do past the strife from the seven barrier.
“The bit of trouble early in the race left me a long way behind but it worked out really well,” the Warwick-based driver said.
As the field settled March found himself three back on the inside running line, with Dalacos Empress (Lola Weidemann) establishing the pace out in the lead and Hugo Shannon (Anthony Varga) in on the leaders’ back.
Clintal Do still had plenty left in reserve and commenced to sprint as the field headed into the back straight on the final occasion. “I only had to go when I wanted to go,” March said.
Once March raced past the two front runners he was testing Clintal Do to see how much was left in the tank – and the Dawn Ofa New Day-Shesgotemgood gelding had plenty.
Clintal Do finished the race off strongly, and was well clear of Dalacos Empress with Misty Jane (Julie Weidemann) another metre away third.
“Being a bit fresh he was stargazing a little but when I asked him to go he really knuckled down and went,” March said. He joked that with only the one runner for the day it had been quite relaxing.
“He (Clintal Do) won a QBred breeders consolation as a two year old last season,” he added with the pacer clocking a career best mile rate of 1.56.6 for 1660 metres in that win.
Clintal Do also won the second heat of the recent Star Maker Series at Tamworth back in January before finishing sixth to I’m With Lexy (Bernie Hewitt) in the final.
“After the run at Tamworth he didn’t pull up that good so we gave him a little bit of a breather,” March said. “It’s always good to come here to Inverell – it’s a well-run club.”
March will be back to the North West racing circuit sooner rather than later with Clintal Do.
“We will head to the $10,000 Armidale three year old with him in a couple of weeks,” he said. “We have brought a couple down before but had no luck.”
Although he did only have the one runner from his stables, March did take a couple of outside drives. One of those was Pepperall, who he drove to a 2.5m win in the final race of the day – the Fencing North West Pace.
