In anticipation of Anzac Day next Tuesday, April 25, Joan Ticehurst and Colleen Makim were proud to sell badges and pens in support of local veterans.
Colleen said the town is always welcoming, and “once we tell everybody the money stays here,” donates generously. Many give without expecting merchandise in return.
Joan said the local RSL was “just brilliant”, and always knew who needed help.
The ladies will continue visiting businesses until Friday, when they will hold a street stall in front of the Regional Australia Bank on Byron Street. From 8am, the badges and pens will be joined by morning tea treats, books and other bits and pieces.
The women will go on to host the traditional breakfast after the ANZAC day dawn service. To see a schedule of services and marches across the region, click here.
