The presentation was organized by the year 3-6 scripture team teachers Doreen Gillman, Bernie Killen and Debbie Chetham
Doreen Gillman opened with a welcome and prayer and told the children that what made Christmas such a big deal was not getting presents, but remembering the present God gave to the world.
Bernie Killen and Debbie Chetham then sang a song Bernie wrote especially for Scripture called The Gift, based on the famous words of John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that the gave his Son so that everyone who believes in him should not die but should have eternal life.”
The main presentation was a reenactment of the Biblical Christmas story using the words of another one of Bernie’s songs.
After he sung each verse and gave a short narration, the children acted out the story.
The program closed as usual with a rousing rendition of a Christian version of Jingle Bells.
Doreen told that students that while there are many exciting aspects to the holiday season, the Bible account was the authentic Christmas story.
Teachers and staff at both schools were thanked for their help and encouragement to all the Scripture teachers throughout the year.
