The Inverell Jockey Club Ladies Sub Committee were thrilled with the quality of fashions on the field entrants.
“The townspeople of Inverell are really wonderful. They come to the fore each year and they’ve been wonderful supporters of the fashions on the field,” member Faye Taylor said.
“The young ones make such an effort.”
Although visitors came from far and wide, Boxing Day judges Rhonda Vincent, Susan Coventry and Kim Powers and New Year’s judge Susan Stafford were most impressed by local style.
On Boxing Day, local Noveau White was named most elegant, while Hayley Oakenfull and Ben Fox took best couple and Clea Townsend was chosen for the best millinery.
Local Denielle Worgan was chosen as most elegant on New Years, while Sydney’s Lilly Simos took home the best millinery title. Inverell couple Brett and Kerrie Anne Hawkings were named best couple, Breagan O’Connor was the best dressed male and Nikki Dunn the best strapper.
”I think in a country town, it’s lovely for the young people to have something to look forward to, and of course it generates a lot of money into the town and the fashion houses here,” Ms Taylor said.
