Council workers closed down a section Otho Street this morning to the confusion of drivers from Byron Street and Evans Street forced to do U-turns and find alternative routes to their destinations.
The start of work came as an anti-climax to the town after all the controversy surrounding the Town Centre Renewal Plan that was supposed to have started on January 29. The works, on the table since 2014, were delayed after a request from the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS).
