The funding will go towards improved display cases for the pavilion and new rubber matting, which will also be rolled out across the pavilion’s basketball court.
Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall announced the funding earlier this month.
“This sesquicentennial show promises to supply everything the event is renowned for and far more,” Mr Marshall said.
“The event ‘150 Reasons to Celebrate at Inverell’ will offer a bigger entertainment line-up and fresh plans for the agricultural displays, offering visitors a new experience, while still highlighting the show’s historic roots.”
Inverell Show Society President Graham McKenzie said the furnishings had already been purchased, with this 150th year proving a monumental organisational feat.
The first Inverell Show was held in 1868 on the banks of the McIntyre River.
It has been staged annually at its current location since 1914.
