Battling through hot conditions, players took the field to see which team would progress to the next round.
Holy Trinity’s Anthony Gaias was pleased with the final score of 7-0 in favour of his side.
“The boys played really well, it was a team game. There was lots of passing and communication which resulted in 6-0 at half time,” he said.
Gaias commended Macintyre High’s goal keeper who had “plenty of practice” during the game.
As Holy Trinity secured their place in the competition, they have started preparing for the next round.
“We will play Inverell High in a couple of weeks. We’re just going to keep doing what we’ve been doing but work more on our finishing,” he said.
Meanwhile, Holy Trinity’s girls travelled to Narrabri to play in the Bill Turner Trophy.
The score was 3-3 at full time which led into an extra time drop off and golden goal.
As no goals were scored in that time, their game led to a penalty shoot out with Narrabri getting the upper hand.
“The girls played exceptionally well. It was unlucky they didn’t win the shoot out,” he said.
