Centacare NENW has ensured that more, local staff have been trained to provide this valuable service within our geographic.
Psychologists have had extensive training regarding best practice for providing help to people impacted by problem gambling and know how to help.
“Gambling problems affect people from all walks of life. Centacare is committed to helping people with useful self-help tools and advice for gambling responsibly,” said Tim Rawson, Centacare’s Gambling Help Manager.
Centacare’s Gambling Help Service (GHS) can provide counselling, support and assistance for anyone impacted by problem gambling.
They don't have to be a problem gambler to ask for help - this service is open to anyone impacted by problem gambling, wives, husbands, siblings, friends, parents, and children.
Centacare NENW can also assist with self-exclusion from gaming venues. Everybody has the right to exclude themselves from any gaming venue in New South Wales if they want to cut down, have a break or quit gambling altogether.
GHS is provided for free, and is funded by the NSW Department of Liquor, Gaming and Racing under the Responsible Gambling Fund. If you need support due to problem gambling, call us on 1800 372 826 or Gambling Help on 1800 858 858.
