A 25-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly apprehending a domestic violence order

A Tingha Man, aged 25, has been charged with assault and breaching an apprehended domestic violence order.

Police from the Western Domestic Violence High Risk Offender Team attended a property in Tingha at about 10.30am yesterday for the purpose of an apprehended violence order compliance check as the man had recently been released from prison. 

Police received information that the man had allegedly assaulted his female partner the previous night by allegedly pushing her and threatening to hit her house with a brick. 

Police arrested the man a short time later in Tingha. He was taken to Inverell Police Station where he was charged and refused bail. The man appeared before the Magistrate at Inverell Local Court and was refused bail until July 13, 2018.
