An obituary written by her sister Nikki Jeffery showed that the community still remembers Michelle with love and misses her greatly.
Below are some comments written on social media by those who miss the bubbly and energetic woman who played a role in increasing the awareness of White Ribbon Day and its message of anti-violence.
Even though I did not know your sister not a day goes by for the past 12 months that I have not thought of her. That day will be forever etched in my mind. I only wish I could have brought her back. Thinking of all Michelle’s family.

This is beautifully written Nicki, thoughts and prayers are with your family today and always. Michelle will not be forgotten. I pray your message reaches others, to prevent the agony that your family has had to endure these last 12 months.

I was lucky to have met Michelle as a client and she helped me understand a lot about where I was going wrong. I had a meeting booked in the day she passed and still have messages from her on my phone. She was a lovely kind-hearted woman and i was shocked when I attended the White Ribbon walk and her name was not mentioned which was sad as she was a driving force of that cause. Michelle is missed by a large array of people. May she always RIP.

I still find this hard to believe. Michelle surely did hide it well, always so bright bubbly and supportive.
