The Inverell Shire Council’s Careers Expo on Wednesday is a fantastic opportunity for students, job seekers, teachers and the general public to connect with local business and gather pertinent information in relation to career options available to them.
Around 800 attendees have already shown interest in the biennual event that will feature Australian sporting icon Steven Bradbury, gold medallist in the men’s short track speed skating at the Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Olympic Games.
Steven will provide two inspirational keynote presentations to students in years 10, 11 and 12 from the Inverell Shire and Northern Tablelands.
Special guest
Celebrity keynote speaker and Winter Olympic gold medallist Steven Bradbury will address participants with his insights for goal setting and overcoming adversity.
While Bradbury’s speed skating gold medal win is now embedded in Australian sports folklore, his rigorous training schedule of 5 hours a day, 6 days a week for 12 years and tenacity to overcome a broken neck show he was far from an overnight success story.
Mr Bradbury will provide two inspiring presentations throughout the day, outlining his journey from the ice to becoming a highly successful business owner.
