Boomi farmer Sam Noon has organised the Rural Ladies Evening, to be held at the Boomi Hall from 5pm on July 13, as an opportunity for women to get-together, meet new people and perhaps learn a new skill.
“We don’t get a chance to socialise really – we go to school and preschool drop-offs, come back and live in our own little bubbles,” Mrs Noon said.
“I realised there’s a lot of women around who don’t know each other.
“This is just a casual night where they can learn something, meet some new friends and catch-up with old ones.”

The event will feature four concurrent workshops.
At 5.20pm there will be a workshop on making your wardrobe work for you by Trysh Morris from Stage One Fashions, Goondiwindi, and a workshop on table setting and styling for your next party (with flower arranging) by Clare Warby from Luxe and Humble, Mungindi.
In the next session at 6.20pm, women will have the choice between a basic skin care and make-up workshop by Kristie Pettit from Inspire Believe Create Beauty, Inverell, and a shabby chic chalk painting workshop by Chantele Guyer from Auburn Cottage, Moree.
Narrabri photographer, motivational speaker and health coach Shanna Whan will give the opening address.
After the workshops there will be a warm dinner and sweets catered by Monique and the Boomi Co-Op Committee, as well as pop-up boutiques and a pamper corner with massages and beauty treatments.
“It’s a night for women to invest some time into themselves,” Mrs Noon said.
“It’s a hard season this year and things aren’t looking crash hot; this is an excuse to go out, be social and leave the worries of the farm behind for a while.”
Cost is $30 which includes choice of two workshops, all food and a complimentary drink on arrival.
Tickets are limited and are selling quickly. Go to https://www.stickytickets.com.au/70722/rural_ladies_evening.aspx or call Sam Noon on 0406 373 628 to purchase a ticket.
