So when the Highlander Rugby Club’s Ladies Day scooped $800 that it decided to donate to the hospital’s maternity ward there were plenty of smiles and heartfelt gratitude.
The sports fundraiser held on home turf, sponsored by LJ Hooker and Simply Print Anything, was a great game against Walcha.
There were mixed results as far as goals were concerned, but huge rewards for charity.
There was a huge turnout with raffle prizes and sales of Simply Print Anything wine and champagne glasses.
Inverell Hospital Maternity Unit Manager Libby Pitman was delighted with the offering. “Community donations are special to us,” she said. “We haven’t decided how we will use the money.”
“The hospital is something everybody uses and we love the good service,” said Georgina King from Simply Print Anything.
“We can vouch for that,” said Miles Devlin.
