Last weekend saw Inverell consolidate their position at the top of the ladder in the Central North Women's Sevens rugby competition, with with resounding victories against third-placed Narrabri.

Game one saw a slow start, with Narrabri grabbing the lead at half-time to head to the sheds 7-0 in front.
Second half tries to Rhiannon Byers, Ashleigh Walker, Lauren Nott and Mykayla Crisp with a clean sheet against them gave the Highlanders the win 22-7.
Game two saw both sides knuckle down and play a much more even game, with Inverell again claiming the win 17-0 with tries to Rhiannon Byers, Mykayla Crisp and Emily Adams.
Coaches points were awarded 3 - Rhiannon Byers, 2 Jessica York, 1 Hannah Crisp. Players Player was Ashleigh Walker.
Next weekend sees the Inverell girls travel to Gunnedah for a sevens gala day tournament where they will play every team in the competition.
“A big congratulations to the Highlanders players who have been selected to represent the UNE Lions in Brisbane this weekend at Griffith University's Aon Sevens trial carnival,” coach Dale Beattie said.
Those players are Rhiannon Byers, Hannah Crisp, Shana Povey, Ashleigh Walker, Lauren Nott and Ashlee Knight. Mykayla Crisp was also selected but was unable to attend due to work commitments.
“This is a just reward for the excellent rugby all players have been playing representing Central North at Warren, Newcastle, Armidale and Wauchope tournaments throughout the season,” Beattie said.
