The trees are a unique feature of the village, planted as a living memorial to fallen local soldiers in WWI and WWII.
Due to wet weather, Bingara Central School hosted the orange picking ceremony before the whole community took to the street for the exciting harvest.
As it only happens one day each year, the orange picking is a greatly anticipated event and prepares locals for the annual Orange Picking Festival on Saturday.
Kicking off at 9am tomorrow, the festival will feature stalls, entertainment for children, classic car displays, loads of live entertainment and action on the main stage.
There will be regular screenings of 50s and 60s show reels in the historic Roxy Theatre to tie in with this year’s theme: Happy Days celebrating the good times of yesteryear.
