With 15% of the population experiencing food insecurity at some point every year, Foodbank and Woolworths are appealing to Inverell residents to support its national public appeal and help meet the rise in need for food assistance over the winter period.

Woolworths Inverell store manager Kim Fenton encouraged locals to add a $2 Winter Meal Token to their shop. The tokens are available from Wednesday, July 11 to Tuesday, July 24.

“100% of funds raised will go directly to Foodbank which offers a vital community service, helping to feed Australians in need,” she said.

“Each $2 donation will help Foodbank provide four warming meals to those in need this winter.”
