Over 100 skateboarders aged between four and 20 years came along to two skateboard sessions on Wednesday and Thursday.
“Scott Standley wowed the kids with a demonstration and also worked with beginners through to more experienced skaters,” Inverell mayor Paul Harmon said.
“The skate park on Old Bundarra Road continues to be a popular destination for youth and council is working with member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall to undertake improvements at the park.”
Mr Marshall announced last week that he is pushing for $50,000 in state government funding to expand the venue. The proposal includes picnic shelters, tables, shade facilities and a public barbecue area.
A free event, the workshops were funded by the Inverell Shire Council and NSW Youth Opportunities Program. The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service ran a barbecue on the day.
