The Inverell RSM Hawks catapulted themselves into second place on the Group 19 premiership table and a major semi-final berth, with an emphatic 94 to 6 victory over the Tingha Tigers on Sunday.

Requiring a win to secure a home final, the Hawks benefited from the Boomerangs defeating the Boars on Saturday, to allow them to climb above the Boars and into second spot, and have the chance of hosting this seasons Grand Final at Varley Oval.
Inverell only needed two minutes of play before they opened the scoring when Bailey Cosgrove crossed under the posts for a 6-0 lead.
A further seven first half tries to the Hawks to a lone Ingram Williams try for the Tigers, saw the Hawks hold a commanding 44-6 lead at half time.
One minute into the second half and Brennan Cosgrove crossed for the homeside to extend the lead to 50-6.
Eight more tries followed for the Hawks during the second half, which ended with thirteen of the seventeen man squad crossing for tries during the match.
The Hawks came through the match unscathed and will head into the major semi-final encounter with the Boomerangs at full strength.
Hawks juniors continued their recent run of good form with a hard fought 22-12 victory over the second placed Tigers.
Their semi-final position uncertain due to an administrative dispute with Group 19, the Hawks did not allow this to effect their performance against the more fancied opponents.
The Hawks got off to a flying start with three tries in the first 20 minutes to Ryan Ford, Jai Tasker and Damon Harrison. Jack Stafford converted all three to have the Hawks ahead 18-0.
Tingha hit back just prior to half time with a converted try, to trail 18-6 at the break.
Damon Harrison put through a try in the 22nd minute into the second half to have the final score 22-6 to the Hawks.
The Inverell RSM Hawkettes secured a semi-final berth with a 14-0 win over the Tigers.
Chelsie McMahon scored the only points of the first half with a try in the 18th minute to give the Hawkettes a 4-0 lead at half time.
Kyla Hamilton extended the Hawks lead with a try under the posts five minutes after the break. Kyla converted the try to put the Hawkettes in front 10-0.
Codie Ryan then secured the Hawkettes victory with a try, finishing the scoring at 14-0 to Inverell.
Semi-final matches commence on Sunday at Glen Innes, the Hawkettes will contest the minor semi-final against the Moree Boomerangs. The following week first and second grade will travel to the Rangs.
