It was a sight many had not seen or experienced in a long time and unfortunately not enough to help struggling farmers.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) Inverell recorded two millimetres in the past 24 hours.
While Elsmore recorded 0.6mm and Warialda had roughly 0.4mm.
Bundarra recorded around 3mm of rain.
Clouds are predicted to clear and unfortunately the rain won’t stick around for the rest of the week.
The BOM has predicted a light morning frost for Inverell tomorrow but a mostly sunny day.
The rest of the week will be mostly sunny with tops around 19-20 degrees.
Although the rain was short-lived, we’d like to see any rain pictures our readers happened to catch this morning.
Send them through to inverelltimes@fairfaxmedia.com.au and we’ll add them to our online gallery.
