Committee secretary Leanne Brown said supporting the cause was a way to ensure the money stayed in the New England North West region.
“We understand the struggles that farming families are experiencing and realise that the fundraiser may only help a select few,” she said.

The community has supported the jockey club’s fundraiser with intensity.
“We have had local businesses donate large amounts of money and the Tatts Hotel has partnered with the Inverell Jockey Club to combine the fundraising.”
Last month, the club aimed to reach $1500 to sponsor part of a hay truck for the region, but now due to so much support from community members and businesses the target is to sponsor a full load costing $5,700.
“The rural aid raffle which was organised by Mr E.P. Ehsman of Inverell has been a great success with businesses/individuals donating over a $1000 in prizes.”
The Inverell Jockey Club are charging a full entry fee for the rural aid race day: $10 adults, $5 pensioners and children over 12. All the gate takings will be contributed to the cause along with all race book sales.

The club have organised a jumping castle for the kids to enjoy on the day, and even though the track is still in Winter condition, it should be a great day of racing as Inverell has one of the best tracks in the New England North West.
Keep an eye out for our very enthusiastic Jockey Mascot walking the main streets of Inverell drumming up business with a rural aid donation tin.
If you are unable to attend on Saturday, this will give you the opportunity to dig deep and still support the Buy-A-Bale initiative.
