The videos were the brainchild of Michael O’Sullivan, an original member of Inverell’s iconic bush band, ‘Bandy Bill and Co’ and Rob Smith, a retired photographer, videographer and artist.
The first two clips uploaded to the public domain, ‘Tom Roberts’, an original written by Michael, and ‘Entertainment Tonight’, written by Robert Hardy, were performed by Michael and Robert firstly at Newstead Station and then along the banks of the Macintyre River at Paradise.

Rob Smith and Timo Koski, photographer and studio assistant, created the final product. These were followed by John Williamson’s ‘Galleries of Pink Galahs’, with guitarist Peter Abbington-Blanch, joining Michael and Robert.
A few weeks ago another clip hit the airwaves. It is a song in Gaelic called ‘Buachaill On Eirne’, it’s about an Irish prince who wanted to marry below his station. It’s a love song with an unhappy ending.
Sung by ‘The Bandies’, (Michael O’Sullivan, Jim Hanlon and Jo Peel), and led by Jim, the trio was joined by Maria Figuerola, who performs a beautiful violin solo, Andrew Fuller, and Peter Abbington-Blanch. Jim Schliebs did the filming and photography.
Jim’s recording was sent to Rob Smith who wove his magical charms to create the final product.
Awaiting final production is the beautiful song ‘Sweet Sixteen’ which is performed by ‘The Bandies’ and Adrian Harte, an original member of ‘Bandy Bill and Co’. The instrumentals are performed by Jim Hanlon and Adrian. Jim Schliebs’ filming will again become the basis of the final clip which will be arranged by Rob Smith.
Currently the videos can be viewed on Rob Smith’s website. It is hoped that the clips will soon be available on Youtube and video channels around the world.
