Family and friends are set to head trackside to watch the best of the best ride in memory of the local boy.
“He was a gun racer and motocross was a major part of Scott’s life. He used to travel around the countryside with his parents Colin and Meg to compete and enjoyed racing with his mates.
“Scotty was also sponsored by Mongrel Motos and just fell short by one point to go overseas for racing motocross” cousin, Bec Solomon said.
The likes of Jay Wilson, Brett Carroll and Joel Rizzo will return to Inverell especially for the event in honour of their mate who they all spent many years on the motocross circuit together.
Organisers are expecting 150-200 spectators to head down on the day, with proceeds raised going towards new starting gates.
A memorial plaque will be installed and the gates will be named in memory of Scott Fermor.
Organisers will be selling tickets throughout the day after local businesses donated over 35 items for a raffle.
The VRA will also be taking gold coin donations on the gate to raise money for a new truck.
“The VRA were heavily involved in Scott’s accident so this is our way of saying thank you to them,” she said.
If you missed online registrations head down to the track before 7.30am to put your name down for the day.
There will be non-competitive 50cc, juniors, seniors and an open all powers divisions riding on Sunday.
Catered food will be available along with camping sites varying from $25 for a family and $10 for a single.
