However, in one last attempt to revive it, the two remaining members of last year's committee with the support of LANSW Regional Support Officer, Adam Jolliffe, and New England Zone Coordinator, Russell Scott, will hold a Special public meeting on Monday evening 27th August at the RSM Club starting at 5.30 pm.to attempt to elect a committee and determine the future of the club.
Little Athletics caters for children of all ages and abilities from Tiny Tots (4 year olds) through Under 6 to Under 17 age groups. It promotes the skills and fitness required for all sporting activities so is considered a "foundation sport".

Zone Coordinator, Russell Scott, said that Little A's differs from many other sports in that, at the local level especially, it requires a lot of involvement and commitment by parents , both at committee level and on the field assisting with training and competition activities- so much so, in fact, that LANSW has mandated that all children participating MUST have a parent or guardian present at all times, preferably taking an active role.
“While this may appear a burden,” said Mr Scott, “the opportunity to share closely in their children's fun and achievements is very rewarding.”
For parents who feel they lack the knowledge to help out, LANSW is ready to provide education and support, starting at very basic levels and progressing to higher skills where desired.
For the club to re-form, five committee positions must be filled : President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Registrar.
Mr Scott expressed disappointment and surprise that a town the size of Inverell was unable to muster the support needed for a Little Athletics centre to function, and said he hoped that the coming meeting would turn things around.
In past years the club has run at Varley Oval on Thursday afternoons during the summer season. Depending on the composition of any new committee that may change to another day, possibly Monday.
Past President, Natalie Tutt, who indicated that she was prepared to stay on to assist, said that Registrations , which must be done on-line this year, would be typically $100 per child, and uniform shirts $15.
