Celebrating the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book Week, the school had their first ‘Booknic’, where instead of food, students read picture books to one another.
Students from kindergarten to year 10 partnered with students from a different year and shared one of their favourite books.
This year’s Book Week theme is Find Your Treasure, and this is why the children were encouraged to share the stories they treasured most.
“We began with a short prayer by 3/4C thanking God for books and all we have learned from them, then students enjoyed sitting in the sun reading and listening to great quality stories,” librarian Toni Fraser said.
“We finished off with a cake for all the students and staff.”
Holy Trinity children dress up as their favourite story characters every second year.
