The driver was uninjured but a woman passenger was taken to the Goondiwindi Hospital with minor injuries.
It could have been far worse.
Police believe the man tried to pass a turning truck 40km from Goondiwindi around 9am (on Wednesday).

The utility struck the truck near its petrol tank where it became wedged.
Boggabilla fireman, Garry Roberts said it probably saved their lives.
“Otherwise they would have gone straight under the truck,” he said.
It was estimated the vehicles were doing around 100km/hr.
Police have warned passing traffic to take care.
And to be aware of new speed laws around accidents.
The new rule, which began on September 1 in NSW, requires all drivers to slow down to 40km/h when they pass stopped emergency vehicles flashing their blue and red lights, regardless of the speed limit.
Failing to do so could result in a $448 fine and the loss of three demerit points.
Boggabilla Police Senior Constable Aaron Kilmurray said many drivers still weren’t aware of the rule.
